A RESOLUTION

Commending Milford Church of God; and for other purposes.


WHEREAS, in early 2006, Milford Church of God, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Keith Gunter, purchased an additional 5.5 acres of land and began plans to appoint a "Dream Team" to plan for the future of the church and its service to the Cobb County community; and


WHEREAS, Milford Church of God is recognized as one of the leading churches in the west Cobb area; and


WHEREAS, Milford Church of God has continued its long history of service to the Cobb County community and its citizens; and


WHEREAS, the members of Milford Church of God also have contributed to the Cobb County community and the enrichment of the day-to-day lives of its citizens by their many civic and community activities; and


WHEREAS, today the membership serves the Milford community with such ministries as the Women’s Connection, the Good Shepherd Learning Center, and the Good Samaritan Health Center; and


WHEREAS, the new land will enable Milford Church of God to continue in its effort to reach and serve the people of Cobb County; and


WHEREAS, Milford Church of God has helped to make Cobb County a better place for all its citizens to live.


NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body commends the membership of Milford Church Of God for their achievements and service to the citizens of Cobb County and all of Georgia.


BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Milford Church of God is encouraged to remain involved in the community and civic activities and that it is hoped that other areas will be found in which the church can participate to better the community.


BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Milford Church of God.
